About Us
Smitty needs to know the rider, his or her riding needs and style as well as the body. He wants to understand, measure and know the horse. The ground seat of a Smitty's saddle is all leather- no metal plate. This is unheard of in today's market, for it takes and extra half hide of leather to make. As a result, the seat continues to custom contour during the first 40-50 hours of riding. Expect several fittings as the maker works through overlapping layers of leather.
You know how you ride and how you will be using your saddle, so choose the style desired. Smitty works with you to determine tooling patterns, colors and all the details that make your saddle one of a kind.
